Supporting Dance Since 1979

A Denver Tradition in Dance

The genesis of the Denver Ballet Guild in 1958, grew from a desire to produce outstanding ballets in the Denver area as the Denver Civic  Ballet Association. In 1969, Denver Ballet Academy and Denver Civic Ballet were added to the Association to further meet the objective of supporting quality and diverse dance in the Rocky Mountain region.  From that early inspiration has grown a large and dedicated organization impacting countless lives.

Your support of the Denver Ballet Guild helps us create   wonderful outreach programs for the Denver community.

  • Community Enrichment:  DBG’s goal is to provide financial support to help Colorado dance companies grow and reach more audiences in their communities. We accomplish this through grants that support performance development and innovation.
  • Dance Dates:  Dance Dates are official excursions by Guild members to support area dance companies. These outings offer an enjoyable chance to personally interact with the dance companies and performers, and other DBG members.
  • In-School Programs:  DBG works with professional dance companies to provide exciting dance presentations to children. Presentations are designed to give students exposure to professional dance performances, as well as provide the opportunity for students to interact, and sometimes, perform with the dancers.
  • Showcase of Dance:  An event to introduce children to the excitement of live dance performances in a theater. Local area schools bring the children to the theater where they see some of Denver’s finest dance companies perform.
  • Young Dancers Competition:  The Young Dancers Competition is the region's most prestigious competition for serious students of ballet. Amateur dancers work with a nationally-known master ballet teacher and compete for financial awards to support their dance education. Many former winners of this competition now perform with professional dance companies.

The Denver Ballet Guild is a volunteer organization supporting and celebrating the beauty and power of all types of dance. The mission of the Denver Ballet Guild shall be to stimulate interest in ballet and other forms of dance; to promote dance at all levels; to conduct dance education; to develop audiences; to conduct fundraising activities to support and promote dance and to disburse funds for such purposes.

Denver Ballet Guild is a 501(c)(3) non-profit with no paid staff or personnel. Dedicated volunteers contribute funds and countless hours of service on behalf of dance.  The Guild makes a significant impact on the dance community by awarding annual grants to professional dance companies, sponsoring dance education and in school programs, and awarding scholarships to young dancers.  Share your time and talents with the Guild to help programs run smoothly and the Guild build for the future.
